If you’re a last minute shopper like I am then this one is for you! I dragged my boyfriend along for the ride on this one and asked him to share some of his washable essentials and also to give some ideas and tips for a mens gift guide this christmas. So if you still need to buy a present for your other half I hope a few of these ideas can help!
SKINCARE & GROOMING
As well as the usual gifts such as socks and aftershave, male grooming has become much more prominent in 2016. For example my boyfriend Will is your typical ‘bloke’ he plays rugby, works on the tools but is definitely one for looking after himself so I asked him to share his wash bag essentials, here’s a few of his favourites:
Loreal Energetic Gel – although he switches his moisturisers regularly this gel has been a favourite as it soaks in fast and has a thin texture so it feels like you don’t have anything on the skin, it’s refreshing and also smells good.
No7 Energising Roll On – Early wake ups means he needs something to give him an instant refresh and he found this one to be refreshing under the eyes and makes them look brighter, it also makes you look less tired and dull, again great if you have an early alarm for work.
Diesel Only the Brave – this is a favourite of his as he always receives a compliment when wearing it, the scent lasts all day but is a toilette so not too overpowering, It’s also got a nice price point so isn’t one to break the bank – a perfect daytime scent.
Hugo Boss the Scent – although he has a lot of higher end fragrances such as Creed and Hermes, this is one he always goes back to as it smells just as good, not like you are trying to hard and it doesn’t smell, as he put it.. ‘cheap’. It’s a classy scent and lasts a long time and also has more expensive packaging.
Hairspray – he loves to wear a hat but hates having hat hair so one tip he has found that works for him in avoiding this is to use hairspray!
I also asked him to share a few ideas for both fashion and tech gifts, his style tends to be quite minimalistic and he prefers quality over quantity. A few of his key pieces are a good watch, plain t-shirts/shirts and a smart card holder as he hates carrying a wallet which bulges in his pocket!
When it comes to tech lets just say he can be a little spoilt, being an electrician he just loves to faff! One of his favourite brands has to be Bose because of the quality of sound, he also recommends a good portable charger or phone charging case, these come in handy when working long hours or travelling like he does for rugby.
If you haven’t found a gift for the men in your life, boyfriend, dad, husband or brother then hopefully this gift guide will help! Let me know in the comments below if you have any other gift ideas to share!
